Join your peers in pledging 1% of your income to help eliminate extreme poverty

One for the World

Despite the world being wealthier today than at any other point in human history, one billion people still live in extreme poverty. In most cases, people want to help but hesitate because they don't know how, and the problems seem too large, too distant, and too complex. One for the World is an organization that uses rigorous, data-driven charity selection to recommend the most effective nonprofits to donate your dollars. You can maximize your impact and fight extreme poverty by giving at least 1% of your income to these effective nonprofits.

Intentions ≠ Actions

"The majority of Americans (85%) say that they care about nonprofit performance, but only 35% research any charitable gift in the course of a year. Of those that research, most (63%) do so to validate the nonprofit they're seeking to give to. Only 3% of donors do comparative research to find the best nonprofit to give to." - The Elephant in the Brain (2017)

Our Nonprofit Partners

One for the World has partnered with GiveWell to compile a list of recommended nonprofits based on extensive research and analysis. One for the World’s portfolio consists of 4 highly effective nonprofits: the Against Malaria Foundation, Malaria Consortium's Seasonal Chemoprevention program, Helen Keller International's Vitamin A supplementation program, and New Incentives.
